Required Privileges
Privilege | Description |
Add New Project | Allows users to create a new Project in Asite. |
NOTE: If need to create a Project using an existing template, see Clone a Project from a Project Template.
Create a New Project
Log in to Asite CDE.
Navigate to the Projects tab.
Select Add Project (left menu).
The Create Project pop-up opens.
Complete the required fields.
For more information, see Create Project Field Description.
After completing, click Create.
The Project will be created and can be accessed through the Projects tab.
Create Project Field Description
Basic Information
Field | Description |
Project | Enter a name for the Project that allows you to easily identify it later. |
Client Name | Select the owner organisation. This value cannot be changed after the Project is created. |
Geography | Select the Project data location. This value cannot be changed after Project creation. |
Viewer | The Universal Web Viewer is selected by default. |
Status | Select the Project status. See Project Statuses below. |
Upload Image | Upload an image to represent the Project in Thumbnail View. |
BIM enabled | Enable BIM for the Project, if required |
Additional Information
Field | Description |
Description | Enter a brief description of the Project. |
Start Date (dd-MMM-yyyy) | Select the Project start date. |
Finish Date (dd-MMM-yyyy) | Select the planned Project completion date. |
Address Line1 | Enter the first line of the Project address. |
Address Line2 | Enter additional address information, if required. |
Address Line3 | Enter further address details, if required. |
Country | Select the country where the Project is located. |
State | Select or enter the state, province, or region for the Project. |
Telephone | Enter the Project contact telephone number. |
Postcode | Enter the Project postcode or ZIP code. |
Fax No. | Enter the Project fax number, if applicable. |

General Project Settings
Field | Description |
Enable Simple Upload | Enable this option to allow users to upload Files using the simple upload method. |
Enable Public Link | Enable this option to allow public links to be created for Project Files, where applicable. |
Publish Files as Private | Enable this option to publish files as private by default. |
Enable Object Level Visibility of Private Information | Enable this option to manage visibility of private information at the object level. |
Enable Comment Review | Enable this option to allow comment review within the Project. |
Enable File Copy | Enable this option to allow users to copy files in the Project. |
Enable Geotagging | Select Yes to allow geotagging for files or Project items, or No to disable it. |
Mandatory Checkout Prompt
Field | Description |
Enable Mandatory Checkout Prompt | Enable this option to prompt users to check out Files before performing actions where required. |
Restrict Download with Mandatory Checkout Prompt | Enable this option to restrict file downloads when mandatory checkout is required. |
Watermarks
Field | Description |
Document POI | Select View and/or Print to apply watermarks to Document POI files when viewed or printed. |
Document Status | Select View and/or Print to apply watermarks to Document Status files when viewed or printed. |
Markup
Field | Description |
Save Markup Options | Select how markups should be saved: Save markup only, Save markup and open a discussion, or Save markup and automatically send a discussion. |
Markup Privacy | Select Public or Private as the default privacy setting for markups. |
Smart Scan
Field | Description |
Enable Smart Scan | Select Yes to enable Smart Scan for the Project, or No to disable it. |
Create Attribute Values | Select Yes to allow Smart Scan to create attribute values automatically, or No to disable it. |
X-Refs

Enable Sharing X-Refs to Project Team | Select Yes to allow X-Refs to be shared with the Project team, or No to disable it. |
aMessages
Field | Description |
aMessages (File/Model Comments) default | Select Public or Private as the default visibility for file or model comments. |
Status Change Notification
Field | Description |
Create Discussion Automatically | Enable this option to automatically create a discussion when a status changes. |
QR Code
Field | Description |
Support QR Code | Select Yes to enable QR code support for the Project, or No to disable it. |
Project Security
Field | Description |
Enable aDrive Desktop (On Devices) | Select Yes to allow aDrive Desktop for the Project, or No to disable it. |
Filesize Limit for Content Sync | Select the maximum file size allowed for content sync from the dropdown. |
Email Notification
Field | Description |
Document Tasks | Enable email notifications for document tasks. Enter a subject line and choose Overwrite or Append. |
Form Tasks | Enable email notifications for form tasks. Enter a subject line and choose Overwrite or Append. |
Unread Messages | Enable email notifications for unread messages. Enter a subject line and choose Overwrite or Append. |
Project Invitations | Enable email notifications for Project invitations. Enter a subject line and choose Overwrite or Append. |
Working Calendar
Field | Description |
Working Days | Select the days that are considered working days for the Project. |
Additional Holiday | Select a date and enter an event name to add a Project-specific holiday. Select Add Holiday to include it in the working calendar. |
